Snow White

Snow White

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Snow White

a shady kind of elegance

grace in dark abode

heart flickers

like a inept candle

races in step

with certain aloof

pace

the touch, frost

love only a tepid shadow

from past Oaks that were

not strong enough

she needed stability

but found no temperance

autumn rushed in

stripped her bare

of what tenders

there were,

in the coldest winter yet

she is as frozen

as the lake which welcomed her.

thank you, duff,

I think of Snow White born to Care for others… and finding the Purpose of Life and Love.. is understanding and appreciating the Light of Giving. gently, Pat

yes, thank you, Pat...pretty much spot on.

Please forgive my confusion but this brings to mind Persephone more than Snow White. (Or perhaps i am being too literal, I usually am. My psychiatrist says i have black and white magical thinking like a child but i refuse to grow up)
I don't even understand inept candle, jacob... isn't a flame supposed to flicker?
But-
if you speak of a woman who runs from a cold, aloof mother and finds no other solace than death like sleep- yes, snow white
But you forgot the prince and the happy ending!
Please forgive me for my confusion. I feel dense.

Wow, the true mood of Snow White. The feeling of being stripped bare, and then fighting back for a little peace of mind. Very Nice.
