Cast those feelings aside

Cast those feelings aside

I write poetry

as deep as

a puddle

on concrete

that scarcely wets

the sole of a shoe

as it steps through life

gamboling with fate

afraid of

nothing

everything

time running out

splashing across a frame

of a movie

slashing the liquid compliance

of what we are

even when we are not

pools of serenity

as deep as

I write poetry.

I write poetry

Dear J, your poems are often as deep as the bluest ocean and I am a huge fan of your work.

I was drawn in by your title . Cast those feelings aside.

I have always worn my heart on my sleeve. Those loved and admired, stay so. Can’t help it. That’s where I drifted with your lines.

After the Rain… there is a Calm that Humming Birds will flutter around… where Puddles reflect Harmony. softly, Pat

Yes, they do...thank you, Pat,

What a clever juxtaposition to write a deep poem about and wrap it around a shallow puddle.

Just because it’s not a deep puddle, doesn’t mean you do
I’d not leave your mark on poetry….serenely you you touch many hearts….
Even though time is running out…..nice J.

You’re very welcome J.

This is coded. It isn't shallow as the opening line seems to imply.. Those poems may scarcely wet the sole of a shoe but they still left their mark. But what I found out is that a man who writes poetry as deep as a puddle has been engraving words of fire on hearts of flesh. They're words that burn deeply into the subconscious from time to time. A good write..
Akinlolu.

Inspired and inspiring. Write deeply, freely and then walk boldly.
I like philosophical poems.
