I loved her too for years
My fave was too many to mention but Jacob this is a very touching beautiful poem to her I feel she meant a lot in your life
I’m sure she’s still singing out there somewhere with a different voice to show the universe or the same who knows ?
When we lose singers songwriters a piece of heaven is returned to it
Hopefully one day we will all hear the same song

You are indeed most welcome Jacob .. I too remain a big fan of hers .. and with much respect, you are neva to old to learn you know.
I had somehow missed the news she had passed and am so sad to hear it.
Her words and voice reflected her beautiful soul while touching other’s as well, “like they were born to kiss the ear with song.” Your stunning tribute is a perfect example of the impact she has made.
I can also feel your sadness here. Sending out universal waves of comfort from NC.

I was sad too J and made a point of listening to her last night and looking at some lovely pics of her. I always loved the way she sang Ruby Tuesday. Your tribute is perfectly beautiful and touches the heart.
I miss that time when music was decidedly different than the pap we are fed now. She was a singular talent and I played the grooves out of that album. There was joy and sadness in her songs that were seldom rivalled. I had to play my favourite "Look WahtThey've Sone to My Song, Ma" more than once when I read the news.
Fine tribute j.

Thank you, Ted...it hit me hard...I just loved her.
Interesting Jacob that we both were somewhat on the same track today. Synchronicity is a strange thing. This beautiful piece. Amphitrite the wife of Poseidon would be the bride of the sea. But this piece runs with sorrow and joy. I love the first stanza
"tears for the ocean's bride
as new rivers of sorrow
circumnavigate the dry shallows"
Itself is musical.
and the last phrase "like they were born to kiss the ear with song" strikes deep in the feels.

Every time I think of this loss...I tear up.
I absorbed her music, her lyrics, her voice.
She guided me through so many of my poems as I wrote while listening to her.
Like her, I was made to live on Stoneground Words.
