Cuts and Such

Cuts and Such

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Cuts and Such

poetry is like an open sore

we scratch it with a pen

until it becomes an infection

of inflection

a wound wound tightly

in a bandage of words in bondage

sometimes I want to cut off the limb

then hobble away from meanings

that become gangrene in my mind

poetry is both healer and stealer

of life

peel the covering

and see.

poetry fills you to your core and eats you from the inside out. a blessing and a curse to be held by its hidden hands. side note though, love the title. -mabel mae

so true, mabel, so true...thank you,
j.
Poetry can steal your life away. It can be all consuming, but then it can be a healer too. Words can be great therapy, splashed over a blank page.
