Hideout

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Hideout

in the maze of comfort

stray thoughts

turn awry

lose their way

and me

along with them

smart....
thank you, hayzed,

One's comfort zone is always their safe place, to step outside it may lead to some discomfort initially as some adjustments will need to be made. But, oh, how worthwhile it is to take that step away from the known and into the unknown because it frees us up to explore the previously unexplored, it is filled with unlimited probabilities, or a new path may appear which has not been explored before and it may be paved with everything we have ever longed for, but if we don't take that initial step outside of our comfort zone, we will never know how life could have/might have been for us or the riches we missed along the way. It is good to lose our way sometimes, we may just find ourselves on the road we were meant to be on all along. A dynamic and encouraging write, both convincing and compelling. Succinct but v-e-r-y impressive. Love this poem! Eloquent inking! Thank you for sharing, J...

detours can be so rewarding....if we think off road, or outside the box. Thanks, Marie,

thanks for the insightful words, Abhilash,

Why leave your comfort zone, one has to protect self, it's all about self preservation. Stray thoughts are just reminders.

I like "the maze of comfort", I often think about how easy we all have it here

Perhaps comfort, in its soothing way, dissuades our intent toward our goals.

I try to stay clear of the dark alley marked danger. Where the dangerous encounters are from old ghosts that want my ear.

Yes, those old ghosts....haunt us forever if we let them.
thank you, Cherrie,

So true, sometimes for the best taking me away from painful obsession and sometimes distracting me from a worthy goal. Nicely said my friend

Thank you, Soren,

For me, in a busy and far too harsh world, the 'maze of comfort' would be the best place in which to lose one's way. Blissful thoughts, beautiful and beneficial, jacob. (Didn't plan the b+, just happened)
