A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

the water Bill
floated in on a wave of doubt

Final Notice
tears will be shut off
for apathetic non-payment

debt accrues when the heart
keeps borrowing on promises
of love that have no collateral

Thank you for your kind comment, Mary,
j.
The rich get richer and the poor can't even afford to cry any more.
Sounds more like the new world disorder than we care to admit.

Definitely disorder.
Thank you, Lorry.
j.
when the heart keeps borrowing on promises of love

How painful a place that can be j. When that doubt creeps in, it just gnaws away leaving a basin full of sadness.

An unhappy state of affairs dear j.

You are very metaphorical in your reviews, Chris. I like that.
thank you,
j.
Doubt always and forever trumps love. how does that saying go: "to act in the face of doubt (fear, which is the basis of doubt) is bravery". Love is and always will be an act of bravery, a risk taken, doubt and fear overcome. And the heart often leaps without collateral.

When there is no substance in a relationship, doubt are the order of the day. You are on a roll with "somebody done somebody wrong" poetry! Lydi**
