Slip-ons and Slip-ins

Slip-ons and Slip-ins

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Slip-ons and Slip-ins

a beautiful poet

lives in a shoe of incredible traction

her words lace others' thoughts

tightly wound in love and possibility

footprints of rendering interpretations

follow in unique step

her words walk steadily

our minds embrace heel to toe

and we walk along side

of her poems

wanting to hold hands

with her inspiration

she has several pair

and I just want to be

an insole

in one of them.

I'm sure There's a joke I could make about the whole soul/soul thing in there, but I definitely hear what you are saying. When another writer inspires you to write, that in itself is not only the biggest compliment you can get as a writer, but is also inspiring in itself.
Now I must go and brush up on my maths skills to try figure out if that is doubly or triply inspiring, while of course not wondering at all who the lady is!😃

I likes. I have a favorite poet and truly I wish I could "learn" what she seems born with. Nicely written. ~Jim
