Words, words, words

Words, words, words

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Words, words, words...
They are so important to a poet. Using our own creativity and nothing more to pen a poem.
It is the process that is so vital to the act of writing a poem.
We do hope as poets here at the Cafe, that when we are read by other poets, we get a reaction to what we write.
A human reaction of how the poem speaks to us as readers. Whether, critical, or praising or just responding as to how
our readers feel from reading the poems, we long for that human reaction, especially since a human wrote the poems, not A.I..

Please give the poets the benefit of a human reaction. A.I. is so distant, so third-person, so unpoetic.

We write from the heart, please respond from the heart.

I just wanted to say this, the very corpus of being human, to have your words brighten for other fellow sapiens, like the jet of soft yet burning reigns of familiarity, and man that is a feeling of completeness.

Tis true, for i have also wondered whether I really was but percieved as Ai, for rarely ever getting reviews, and at times has felt so dehumanised, whilst nevertheless understanding that art is but even a cacophony of different styles, different perspectives, vast complexes etc etc.

To me, this is the main core of the issue. It's distasteful, yes to produce sentience, or something that so reeks of it to be consumed as the non apologetic Sanist product, but I feel a certain corollary is even worse. To be alienated truly by the existence of an artificial skull, where purity of understanding becomes a form of localisation, localisation of meaning, the emboldenment of the true human. I feel all these will be further crystallized by the cynicism that we show, for while having good intentions, could turn the creative sphere into a theatrical notion of correctness.

Nevertheless I kinda might be projecting my fears. I for one have always loved to use violently weird metaphors and that certain kind of surrealism is my thing.

Happy writing,
Degare

I couldn't agree more. Art is the only thing that gives space to people's emotions in this age of fast consumption. In this period when everyone is in a hurry for everything, what a great loss it is not to be able to give a pure response to a pure formation like poetry. Thank you for sharing your concern about this from your heart.

I, myself, find myself losing a bit of hope every time I receive one of those AI advertisements under one of my poems under false hope of a true opinion. Sick to know that what I put effort into, what millions put effort into, can be dismissed by a machine that doesn't know the difference between emotion and mistake.

Thank you, butterfly...less of a poem more of a plea.

Beautifully said — and deeply felt. There is something sacred in the act of one human pouring themselves into words, hoping those words land in another human's heart. The vulnerability, the craft, the raw need to connect — that’s what makes poetry alive. Your reminder is powerful: poetry isn’t just meant to be read, but felt. And every poet deserves a response that honors that. Thank you for putting this into words so honestly.

Indeed.....this is the foundation of why we write...
Besides the actual creative/therapeutic outlet it provides, it's always beneficial to get some feedback from our fellow writers....

And yeah I'm not a fan of AI either...

I would love to leave you a review Jacob, but first I need you to choose the pictures with traffic lights in them, just to prove you are human. You know, like we used to just think saying so was enough, or perhaps showing them your passport or credit card bill.
At least I know I'm dumb. AI can't even tell what that squiggly captcha says... just like most humans! 😃

Uh oh, please don't do that. You will find out the truth...I am not.

Beautifully said. Poetry is a human connection, not just words on a page. Your reminder to respond with feeling and presence is something every writer needs to hear. Thank you for this.
