short stay

short stay

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

short stay

solutions to disagreements

become pollution to disregard

sooner or later

we breathe so much of it

we tear our insides to pieces

and what's left of our hearts

become ephemeral leases

soon to be expired

our belongings left on a lawn

rue, true true blue

Welcome!!🤗🤗🤗
This is deeply evocative—each line carries a weight that lingers. The metaphor of disagreement turning into pollution is striking and original, and the slow unraveling of the heart into something temporary is both heartbreaking and profound. “Rue, true true blue” ties it all together with a quiet, melancholic punch. Beautifully crafted and emotionally resonant.
