Being nonchalant about being confused

Being nonchalant about being confused

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Being nonchalant about being confused

I always wanted to feel nonplussed
about something
but I was too noncommittal to commit
to being nonplussed
so I became non nonplussed
and committed myself
to just accepting the accepted
except when it wasn't

now I am nonplussed
at this poem
because it has no emotion
just confusion
which makes me very emotional
and nonplussed
committed to accepting
that I know nothing about writing
so I have no way of expressing
the feeling of being nonplussed
about something.

Sir I was thinking that you entered a new era of writing poems, and I love seeing this. This poem feels like a repeated thought that makes brain harder and tiring... I felt that. And so raw, honest and simply complicated somehow. I love this use of words.

A witty, self-aware poem that turns confusion into art. It’s paradoxical, emotionally raw, and smartly tangled in its own uncertainty.

Thank you, poetic swan.

I found this poem clever and funny...
You play with the word “nonplussed” in a way that feels both confused and smart at the same time.
The repetition makes it flow and shows the looping thoughts in your mind. It starts playful but ends with a real, honest feeling about not knowing how to express yourself which makes it even better and a bit more confused. Thanks for sharing this amazing write...
