What a cruel feline to curb the flight of the poor little canary. Curtailed what could have been a beautiful life with the canary living out her years in some pretty glade. But sadly it was not to be. Nature can be so harsh. There is no redemption sometimes. This is such a sad and touching poem, dear Jacob.

Cats are cruel. They kill out of instinct rather than hunger. They play with their prey. The blind canary isn’t daft, her senses are acute. I’m pleased she found the safety of the bird cage after her tune of distraction and died from old age rather than get mauled to death by a viscious predator. I love both birds and cats, but they are best kept well apart.
A catty title dear J.

A fantastic metaphor dear j. The world is a dangerous place.
Felines are a powerful representation of extreme physical evolution. Birds are an ancient and ongoing representation of resiliency and situational intelligence. Most people aren't aware that birds are actually a type of dinosaur that survived the cretaceous extinction event. They are a lovely example of situational adaptability over raw power.
