Even though I am young, and was very much born into a technical age (with A.I. becoming as prominent as EVER as I approach my adult years), I still find myself quite offput by the use of A.I. in creative avenues. It takes away the exact elements in which make poetry the meaningful prose and stories and questions and all the above exactly what it is--human expression.
I appreciate this piece more than anything else I've read recently, because it's a poem that must be written.

It is an insult to those of us who actually write our own works.

There are a couple of writers here who use AI not just for poetry or fiction but as a reviewing fanbase.
This place is supposed to be "below" that kind of thing. I prefer this site specifically because it was too small to attract that kind of thing. But... of course everything has to be ruined. Everything on the internet has to be enshitified eventually. It's like a law or something.
The dead internet theory is becoming not just a theory anymore.

I almost think using it to review is worse than using it to write poetry.

a BIG f'ken AMEN, Jacob. Let's kick those curs to the curb. As I read your poem I remembered when we had a dog, no kibbles and bits for her, she ate real food, dinner scraps, and my kids made sure she got her veggies too. Half pure huskey, half shep, and she would have eaten those AI poets alive (I mean their poems). I think there are some poets who still "do their own thing", just not enough of them. But in my opinion, Jacob, you are one of them.

They had the form of poems, but were cold. So third person, so stiff...not one bit of heart.
