A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Senryu # 999

pride plowed over
a farmer's face flushed
a calling, now a wrong number

Hi Jacob, this can be discerned many ways.
Like all of your writings, the best part is the mystery.
Sometimes, before we rush to judgement
We need to wait until the characters find their place.
I love it.

Jacob, just between you and me...I am still trying to find myself. Thanks, J.
In think, at least in the UK farming is a calling and is inbred through many generations who have farmed the land with plough and animals.
Now with the latest un-british way of life goverment, these ancient fields are being lost to house the immigrant population who have no interest at all in our culture..

I feel for farmers. Especially the small family run farms in the UK. The backbone of our food supply chain. Their lives made so difficult by government interference. Taxed to the hilt. That’s how this senryu speaks to me j.

she must have moved and changed numbers. a shame, cause that farmer may have wanted to say he was sorry.

a very interesting response to this one...I could see it taken that way.
I have such difficulty with haiku / senryu myself, because I have ideas that are too big for to express in so little lines. I have a huge respect for people who are able to do it, because its so hard for me. I really enjoyed this, and how you were able to take the simple and make such a nice story. It was digestible without coming at the expense of being underwhelming. Well done!
