A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

a Rain 40 years ago

dark blazing entity

impassioned

skin of dusk

pondering

ebony affair, the sheets crossed with confusion

of identity,

as

daylight, a nervous sunrise, beckons

but hidden allure must sustain its mask

in shadows

misunderstanding is a cloud waiting to burst

as soon as we step

into the light.

This poem speaks to me of the morning after. Plenty of cloud and possible rain, and not a glimpse of sun. Seems the attraction of the ebony affair was short lived. Maybe that proved to be a disappointment and regret. A sad memory j. Some like happy forever afters, some run a mile.
