Stop using AI to evaluate other writers. Use your own knowledge that you went to university for. You say you were an educator for 30 years, yet you are using an AI tool an AI detector, you say... and now calling yourself an expert. But you're still using AI! That's the whole problem and issue is you're using AI and AI is poison to a writing community.
Jacob says: "There is an Ai detector that will tell us the probability of something being AI"
I'm calling out the blatant HYPOCRISY! You hypocrites! You're using AI yourself! You fool!
AI "Probability " The gum stuck underneath the desk of school children is worth more than the opinion and probability of your stupid AI bot!
Keyword: AI DETECTOR IS STILL AI! he is copy and pasting other writers works into an AI to evaluate other writers for PROBABILITY! so he is basing all his findings not on his own knowledge but on the AI's Probability of the writers work being "AI generated " how can we trust this. A man who claims to be an educator with 30 years experience is basing everything on the probability from a stupid AI. When did someone brain get replaced by AI. So lazy to just copy and paste and have the AI give you probability then get outraged at a young writer and make want to commit suicide.
I give you permission to take this comment and stick it up that AI detector rear end, where your head and brain is so far up in!
Has the AI become poetry viagra for you, just stick to the blue pill next time. Too much AI is not good for aging brains!

Also, the copy and pasted works get uploaded into the data of the AI detector? What? Stop copy and pasting other writers and just read and evaluate it on the site. Don't copy and paste it into that stupid bot!

I teach, and generally the question you ask is whether you think the student is capable of a high standard of work given what they can accomplish on paper.
After that, its just a question of how good you are at telling if somebody is lying.
Thereafter, the next question that needs to be asked is whether it's our responsibility to police it.

It is extremely third person. I have always caught in class and when I have used the AI detector I have found my surmises of AI to be correct.
Using it for both writing poems and reviewing is a cop out and an insult to our genre.

That said, in mine the old guard have a tendency to be particularly closed minded about this new thing. While I agree, it's no substitute for thinking, as an organizational/research tool it is unprecedented.
I think those that proceed you, as well as myself, will have a particularly strange experience ahead of them.

So I can take just about anyone's poem and submit it to an AI tool and just ask the AI to evaluate it? How can we trust what the AI says? Why are you using AI to evaluate other writers. Stop using AI.
And here I've been feeling that it's the perverts that are the real problem with this website. Suppose that's just me.
Given the utility that AI offers, I'd say it's a wave that won't be readily stopped. As for its overlap with art, I'd say that the overall consensus is so unanimous that those that do try to use it will soon balk at the humiliation they can expect upon being discovered.
I think John Locke said something to that end - the communities will eventually regulate themselves.
Personally, I'm not all that bothered by it - granted, I don't post for the benefit of review.
Good luck with it, regardless.

Instead I lean towards the idea that we might use it wisely, as opposed to using it to cheat or for our immediate self benefit.
That said, given the f*****g nature of some of us, I haven't the highest of hopes.
Absolutely true, people use ai for short term results, but its killing the planet and it can never have a soul. poetry is supposed to come from the heart, and a robot can only replicate the ideas, but never imbody the spirit of a good poem. i hate how ai has made me question so much stuff, it feels good you will never use ai

I'd rather stay with my writers block than accept praise for something I didn't create. I'm glad to see you wrote this J. I see it and it's obvious what's going on.

It's a shame what is going on. It's not real poetry from the heart.
I would rather not write or paint than resort to AI creativity, having said that i do think AI is a very useful tool for gathering other information into one place.

Pleased to say that what you get from me is mine. My thoughts, my ideas, my heart’s reaction. I wouldn’t know how to generate AI poetry or reviews and I kind of like that. I know how important that is to you j, as a teacher of this art we both love.
