on the chopping block

on the chopping block

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

on the chopping block

immigrants dancing uneasily

in the streets,

to the Chicago Blues

lives pinned to the ground

asphalt dreams mirrored

riddled dreams

machine gunned

by patrols playing

dusky drums

the sounds of sundown

as proper citizens

who look different

are dragged down boulevards

chained to fear

as freedom so near

is suddenly finding itself

behind the bars of prejudice.

We've certainly turned a lot of people into refugees in their own neighborhoods. Nicely written. ~Jim

Immigration is a positive. Invasion isn’t. Integration is a positive, separation isn’t. Contribution is a positive, taking isn’t. It!s all a question of balance and if government get it wrong then that’s when the hate groups come out to play and that is a sad reality. Decent people just want to get on with their lives in peace and harmony. Lots to think about here j.

In another roll of the dice Jacob, we would be the immigrants or the ones that look different.
But for mans dislike of man thats different, wouldn't Germany have won the war and we'd all be Aryans...perish the thought.
Im unsure if this is about news i haven't yet heard or just in general, but wouldn't it be great if every country just decided to exterminate all hate groups so we can be done with it all once and for all?
Ps... yes i am aware how ayrian that last statement sounded, but if there is one group we could do without, I reckon we could live without those hateful groups that keep all the hate going? I mean, im pretty sure we wouldnt miss out on a cure for cancer, so that would be my vote if I had to.

Pps... im nor Ayrian, honest!
