the Cardinal is a Lonely ArtistA Poem by jacob erin-cilbertothe
Cardinal is a Lonely Artist
in
black mask the
singer is silent with
red feathered sadness
on
the branches an
audience snow sits
in seats reserved for
a January morning a
white crowd in sparkling dress with
coldest demeanor waiting
for one spring song to
occur
before
heading to the exits.
