creeping in keeping with a poem

creeping in keeping with a poem

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

creeping in keeping with a poem

my poems come from the outside

window dressing

displays

heart long gone

this bard's hard love life leaking

the oil

of embroilment

scratching the surface of deeply laden sentiment

I really don't care to go there

I have squandered enough syllables

Now, I just write advertisement

on the billboard of rejections

and directions

on how to get to the heart

as I take a side-road

and slither slowly away from mine.

Oh, Poppa J, you've been staring in my mirror again, haven't you? Didn't I tell you that it's no toy? It seems the season has affected you, too. I know it's a hard knock life, but there is still a lot of good left in it, with many of your peers left in YOUR dust, and friends waiting for your next words of wisdom and beauty. Don't throw your syllables at MY mirror, J. Reflect on your own. Only one thing left to say, which I hate to do: good write.

I hope my syllables didn't crack your mirror....
Thanks FD.

From players, we become onlookers. Life pulls us out of the game and to the sides. But hey, life is still worth living to the fullest with poetry. Especially, your kind.

A pleasure all mine. :)
Bitterness makes its decisions and there's no talking to it or changing its mind. I guess we all have room for it inside. It sits next to anger and escape is above it on a shelf.
