Cardinals AshamedA Poem by jacob erin-cilbertoCardinals
Ashamed i
am trying to write a love poem but
the sky is too orange the
blue is bleeding on
a city street with
twisted metal and
medals given to those brave
folks clearing
the streets of
life and
legitimate Americans who
are also trying
to write a love poem but
have their pens riddled
with bullets the
blue is bleeding orange
lets out a victory smile the
streets are silent there
is peace when
only a few birds are
still singing. hopefully,
singing love songs. erin-cilberto 1/18/25 © 2026 jacob erin-cilbertoReviews
