Words Turned Gray

Words Turned Gray

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Words Turned Gray

my poems are losing their balance
falling down the stairs
of intellection

just simple cries
from the crib, not
of predilection

but inclination
to squander their worth
a head full of tumbling words

lands at the bottom
of his lines
the ending adjacent

to his fouled purpose
which actually
never existed.

Your writing displays such a love of language. I guess I got lost there.

"Fouled purpose" which never did exist. Strong, strong finish. ~Jim

These lines tumble like whiskey down a cracked floor—gritty, unflinching, real.
You let the chaos speak, and it hits where the mind usually hides.

Thank you, Thomas.
This is beautifully introspective, Jacob. You capture that feeling of creative unraveling with such honesty.

You're most very welcome, my dear friend, Jacob. Hope all is well.
Jacob,
Sounds like quiet desperation... Ha! I look around at the wild mess we humans have made of things, and the only sanity I can find is right here while I sit and wonder what to write next, which words to use here at the bottom of things. I get it man!

I am strange.

This is surprisingly neat.

A strong start, this is very inviting towards the reader.

A bit thought-provoking towards the end.

This really captures the present moment in time. The mood, the feel, the vibes. Not to be forgotten too soon.
