in a house of poets (for Victoria)

in a house of poets (for Victoria)

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto
"

dedicated to my NY Publisher who published 6 of my books with Water Forest Press. She was a gem and supported so many poets with unending energy and love.

"

in a house of poets (for Victoria)

unsettling breezes

thoughts of you arrive

and pass by my window

in short gusts of tears

you took words from all of us

and gave them beautiful homes

artistic structure

to display

our wares

a poet's friend

your love

smiles down

from the perfect

halcyon sky

you created and

copyrighted

with your gentle spirit

for you

our guest room

is awaiting

always.

Heart-warming and passionate piece.

It’s sparked a fire in my stomach. Ready for more.

Certain things are painful every single time. I like to read a good writers version of it in poetry. You can taste it.

My impression is that the lady has passed on. That all of us might have such a legacy.

A beautiful tribute Jacob, to someone who obviously meant so much to you. We need more like her, not less.
