A Modern King George III and His Unhinged Band of Outlaws

A Modern King George III and His Unhinged Band of Outlaws

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

A Modern King George III and His Unhinged Band of Outlaws

coronations in every town

not attended

but signs against the rule

like a posse

chasing a criminal with wanted posters

displayed

a kingdom splayed

the alibis

fold

rebel faces

rigid

hearts growing cold

like bodies on Boot Hill

even as the fires burn

hearts yearning to be free---

free------------------------ free

no bombs in the old west

just saddled horses

with no riders

and a sheriff

wearing a tarnished badge

a rusted shade of orange.

Well, I wonder about the identity of this modern George III. Could it be someone familiar to all? Could the orange shade of the sheriff's badge be a clue? I don't know, but I'm certainly glad our current leader is a model of mental health.

Oh God Yes...a model. Ha ha.
Imagine for a minute, if all those anti-coronations (3300 of them, plus those in cities around the world), would be on going, not just a one day affair. If they were continuing every day in nonviolent disruption, clogging up the system, keeping it from working. Not only would we be able to remove him and his "mad men", we could also start determining what kind of society we really want. Let's Go!!

Thanks for your words, Curt.

His speech is tonight. I think we've been alive long enough to know there have been
back deals and corruption with past presidents before. I'm sure there's some funny business going on with any deal that's being made now. Let's see how long this war really lasts.

Yes, how long it Really does...exactly.
This poem is surely a reference back in history to a significantly weird time. Our mad King George. Are you thinking that your current leader is acting similar? It’s the rusted shade of orange that puts the stamp on it for me j. You aren’t a happy bunny are you and Easter will soon be with us.

That is something to look forward to j. Have a great time.
Now I know i am grasping with this one Jacob, knowing the actual king was as mad as a bag of wet mice, as Rich Hall would put it and the rusted orange appearance near the end, but I cant help but think that in his mind at least, this might be an assault on your fairly mad own leader, I mean your fair leader.
But he shall fret not a second and just utter those magic words once more (fake news) and the entire world will believe him. (Well im guessing thats how reality works in the mind of a mental patient.
He said this very night he doesn't care what Iran says (No, really?) And will leave when he decides. (Not quite getting the rules of war either, is he?)
But at least he can go to sleepyheads tonight knowing he shall wake (unfortunately) shake his head and think it was all just a bad dream.... joining every American since his inauguration.
Maybe he'll even decree that he is king of the universe and wage war on Musk, the Martian that he is! 😃

Thanks Lorry...It's all so crazy.

I hate how bad a name "orange" has been given thanks to our precious adult version of Gainsborough's "The Blue Boy". Anyhow, good writing and venting. ~Jim

Yes, it is not the fault of orange is it?
Thanks, Jim.
