A Poem by Erin Lee
"

About a man I once knew. (And yes, he did, indeed, FLOP!)

"

(pea)C**k

by Erin L George

A peacock struts

his cocky stride

with feathers spread -

vain lullaby.

A chick am I

to know the more

to wonder somber:

When time to soar?

Blues, reds, pearls

swirl with his walk

he whips and whirls.

I gawk

my own feathers dark

chocolate hawk.

Stride peacock, stride

to and fro:

Furious ride.

I'll sit and wait

for you to fail

upon my clumsy gait.

To catch your drop

I'll spreak my wings

and swear

I didn't see you flop!
