maple tree stands firm

clenching survival's tight grip

round prey of soil

willow weeps warning

windy whip of cold curtains

cruelty canopy

tulips kiss downed clouds

as gray blue jay swoops by

to nuzzle a rose

stars shine spearmint

spotting stains on shiny sky

static on sunrise
