The Jealous Valentine

By Erin L George

He (the other guy) sent her a Valentine

And she opened it

On her bed

Where she’d drawn the fairy princess.

Enter he:

“Are you lovers?!”

“This cannot be!”

He swore it was not his pride

And the pink of her dress

Melted into blush in rain.

Act three would begin

With a temptress

who brought him pink poppies.
