Winter Tears

losing and finding love

Water cascades of my pillow
From twilight until dawn
Love lies bleeding
At my feet
Yet I feel no need for scorn

The rain upon the tin roof
Echoes through this empty heart
Dreams faltered
Truth restrained
A world of trust torn apart

Sacrifice and heartbreak
Gives rise to a new beginning
Clouds break
The grey abates
Pleasure returns boldly singing

Truth and love find me once more
Creating warmth where there was pain
My heart awoken
No need to cry
Those tears of winter again.

This was inspired by finding love a few years after the break-up of a previous relationship.
