CondescensionA Poem by EruditeIt irks me when people condescend to me
In my presence you seem stricken with hippomonstrosesquippedaliophobia. Well, pardon my supposed semantic obfuscation, because I'll no longer keep my percipience veiled. If my intellect can be reduced to merely a tool to display one-upmanship, then I may as well display my peacock's feathers. My identity is incorrigible. How dare you presume to advise me? Go on, stroke your ego as you bestow wisdom upon me. Silly me, here I thought I was moderately intelligent. I should've been cognizant, instead, of your knowing all answers. Please, beseech me to heed your words. Come down to my low level, and teach me from your well of life experience.
Respect your elders, for they know more than you. At least, they'd like to think so. #nothesaurus © 2018 EruditeAuthor's Note
