A SELF PORTRAITA Poem by Sathish KumarReflections of mind
Is it true, Pains of empty solitude Fetch collapsing creaks and groans? The
conflict of togetherness and separation Defines
the duality of my emotions And
sketches the color of my love You
know not, perhaps. When I heard You are no one dearer to me I pretended perfectly cool Sitting fifteen miles away From the chance of meeting you. A
life time of conclusions Betrayed,
perhaps; I felt. In that mood of flickering irony Dark clouds of a shut heart Enveloped my weary mind Flatly disorienting the words we talked And nothing else was required ….. Is it true, Pains of empty solitude Fetch collapsing creaks and groans? © 2021 Sathish KumarReviews
