Sonnet 3-16-08

 I used to have a dream of you and I, 
In my dream we were free from our chains, we were free to fly,
Free to fly higher than a kite in sky,
But I finally realized it was all a lie,

There are things in life a person cannot take,
There are too many smiles that I can no longer fake,
How long before you can say "Goodbye"?
How long before you let all hope die?

In a box I will lock away the memories,
Of the sound of a melody,
The melody always playing in my head,
Filling my heart with dread,

So I will lock it away,
And turn the page to another day.
