Misguided Hope

Misguided Hope

A Poem by Jessica

there is a night sky that engulfs my mind
gentle darkness creeps into me and caresses my spine
the leaves of the forest trees reflect the black abyss
in this void, there is no hope left to find

the chilling wind sweeps at my misguided path
as i travel down a descending road, the flowers seem to laugh
the sun will grace them in the morning, but i remain in shadow
i see the black converge on white with unmistakable wrath

yet there is another source of warmth lingering above the trees
a glimmering moon to complement the everchanging breeze
sandwiched in the clouds is the guide i have been searching for
and with its embracing light, i can never freeze
