The DoorA Poem by exotic flotsamA poem about love, loss and personal introspection. The Door I fell into enchanted
eyes I filled myself with
you My paean, my pillar Together, we rode
love’s warm thermal Winged to an Elysian
field, lighthouse love My soul, addicted Collapsed, I leaned, you
embraced my fall Selfless, upholding
us both I weathered you by my
erosion I silenced our love
whispers Evaporating me by
shadows You saw the door You cloak yourself Loosing Damocles
sword, poised with your venom Away, searching for superfluous abandon A callous escape,
simply closing you You became everything
in me Beyond this door, you
flee Starving me of you I hear you breathe I smell you I see the handle Turned and opened Lies my deepest
sorrow Too deep for
thoughts, too cold to endure Behind this portal,
you Do I live on this
side? You are me Opened, inside,
behind the door, is a mirror Just me © 2013 exotic flotsamAuthor's Note
