A free verse poem about people putting their lives blindly into the hands something they cant even prove exsists. people foolheartedly place important decisions into faith instead of actually doing something to MAKE it happen...the pray... "hoping" it wil

"

rend the pages of the book of lies and false hope, cast asunder into flame and spit.
following the footsteps of a philisophical harlot, as he hangs from a tree
proclaiming martyrdom is a most heinous act.
plunge your blade into the carcass of what used to be a living god, ten thousand lies can never mend his broken frame.
deny yourself the pleasures of this only life, and starve amidst plenty.
live in his name and serve as a fool and be cheated for broken promises...
create your myths and superstitions surrounding us and undo the happiness this world offers, youre a badly written joke....
with an even more rancid punchline....

live in the word of  a book created by mortal man, to pass his lies off ,on an imaginary father.

I respect your oponions on religion and faith, but sometimes one must find a reason to live that is besides mere selfishness. What a person does is their own choice, and I think that as a person yourself, you don't have the right to judge someone for what they think is right. Unless, that is, you consider yourself superior to these people who "live in the word of a book created by mortal man, to pass his lies off ,on an imaginary father.", then that story lies in discrimination.

I do appreciate this poem though, it's full of self-expressed free opinion. But I do not think I shall read more of your work, not because of your lack of talent, but for the sake of my own prefference in reading something a bit less... aggresive towards another's beliefs.

maybe it's because of my religion,
but even if I wansn't who I was,
i find this very powerful.
you have such an incredible way
of putting together sentences,
and I'm a huge fan of free verse
too...

you speak the truth.
i adore this.
