Immobilized

As I stand there, 

Surrounded by my recovered memories, 

I can’t help but wonder, 

How something so broken, 

Could ever recover,

Without taking everything down with it?

And so I just stare at the moon, 

Paralysed with wonder and fear,

Of what has been, 

And what could have been, 

While the ivy grows, 

Holding me there, 

While life moves on,

Clouds pass by, 

The tide sweeps in and out,

And all I can do is stare,

With too much care.
