Ziggy Dog

This is about my loyal dog

Ziggy, named after a drummer at six weeks old. 

Sat on my shoulders as I drove,

now he sits shotgun, 

sometimes with his face in the sun. 

Like a baby with a blanket, I fall asleep stroking his hair.

Others may leave, but Ziggy's always there.

A nice one. I am for the first time since I was two, completely petless and I dislike it much. Last year our two canines and our feline passed, and right before we moved we had to rehome my parrot. It stings. A lot

Ouch! I am so sorry you lost any of your loves, but very deep sadness when you lose them all. They really give a lot of love and companionship. I hate to see someone get a dog, then leave it tied up in the yard alone all the time. It's heartbreaking. Makes you want to take in all the rescue animals. Thank you for reviewing my poem.

i love this human and refreshing poem ..so relatable ... there is nothing like a "good" dog .. Bella the wonder dog is with me in my avatar ... and i love her snuggles and kisses (rarely given) she is such a s**t sometimes ;)

Awe he sounds precious! I am curious about the line that is longer "Like a baby...", why it is a single line, rather divided into two?

When I wrote it, I pondered those lines and I wanted gun and sun to rhyme and hair and there to rhyme.
