DepressionA Poem by jenniferBlack thoughts enter my mind. All good things I leave behind. A film of twilight forms over my eyes. My life becomes a series of lows without highs. I am alone. In the darkness, friends grow fangs. In the haze that overhangs Enemies are everywhere. In this horrid netherwhere I am alone. Wishing, waiting, wanting, There is no use in searching. Nothing good is in this world Into which I have been hurled. I am alone.
Anger finds me in the dark. Why should I play this part? Why does tragedy find me? Why not he or she? I am alone Suddenly sleep does fall And away the nasty things do crawl. When I awake I understand The trickery that has been at hand. But I am still alone And the black thoughts will come again. © 2011 jennifer |
