had a conversation with a friend close to my heart today about the sun - and here we are

Light shining in my eyes,
A warmth that trickles from the skies.
A gentle breeze, a kiss of air,
Like fingers soft, caressing my hair.

A quiet sigh escapes my lips,
As sunlight rests on fingertips.
It seeps into my waiting core,
Whispers gently, hurt no more.

Tranquility flows, a gentle stream,
Soft and slow, like a waking dream.
It kisses me, then drifts away
Leaving peace where shadows lay.

The distance between us feels less unfurled
When sunlight bridges our split-up world.
I see the sun, and so do you
The same bright orb from a different view.

It touches my skin, and it touches yours,
Even between oceans and far-off shores.
I feel you near, though worlds apart
The sun remembers the path to your heart.

The sunshine is a marvellous thing
It stirs my soul, it makes me sing.
It warms my heart, connects our days,
Links our lives in golden rays.

It’s poetic - yes, almost divine
That this same light on you is mine.
We share the heat, the hope, the chance
To meet again in fate’s slow dance.

For though it's warm, it's not all grace
It comes and goes without a trace.
It comforts us, then dares to burn
A cruel reminder with each return.

But still, I turn my face to light,
Knowing you're beneath its sight.
Though far apart, we share this flame
One sky above, one sun, one name.
