Anchor

Anchor

A Poem by wearyheart

I see you with her,
And everytime I wonder
What it is that I did so wrong,
Why you chose to love her instead of me.
I remember the way I made you smile,
The way your blue eyes would raise with your cheeks,
Everytime I looked,
I got lost in the ocean.
With the waves crashing down on me
I thought I swam to shore when I was in your arms,
But then I came to realize as the waves came crashing down
That you were her shore,
And you were nothing but my anchor
Pulling me down under the current
To the bottom of the ocean
Where the forgotten
Lies.
