About a guy loving a girl and popping "The Question"

I wanted to be somebody

A firecracker

A stallion 

Wanted to sparkle … lighting up the sky

But I am not

I’m just a guy

I wanted to be important

Change the world

Make a name …

To be mentioned in the history books

… isn’t that insane ?

But I won’t be …

I’m just an ordinary guy

With an ordinary name

A guy with dreams

But they are wingless

So they'll never fly

I am what I am …to do or to die

A guy who feels small

Gazing into the vastness of the sky

A guy who gets lost

In the depths of your eyes

I’m yours if you want …

for better or for worse

From the moment you say “yes”

… until carted away in a hearse …

For now and forever 

...to do or to die

I am yours if you want me

Loved the eloquence and theme overall. I really liked how you've articulated the hopes and dreams of someone who's wishing to shine a little brighter in life but on the inside of this guy it's just a case of coming to terms with who we really are, not above average most of the time but he's a guy who is just an average and ordinary Joe. Great work, an excellent and well conveyed poem. :)
