Silent Danger

I saw a gun today

wasn't mine

but there it lay

where it was and

where I was

on this day

suspicious in every way

why did I see this gun today

it's hard to say

turns out 

'twas my bosses gun

and not just for fun

for protection out and about

I don't have one

but if I did 

It would be a big one

and not just for fun

maybe for hunting 

So there it lay

all metal black with its brown leather case

and probably loaded 

It made me think a lot

and reconsider a few things

but not to worry now

I saw a gun today

it was not mine 

but there I left it lay
