The World inside my Mind

Just a sonnet about imagination.

The world inside my mind is wonderful.

In it I’ve been the glorious, proud knight

Who slayed the dragon that was oh so cruel,

And saved the villagers from such a fright.

In my mind I’ve been the mad scientist

Who toils away in his dark and dank lab.

My potions begin to spew a green mist

As I examine what’s on my glass slab.

I am the hero standing all alone

As I watch Armageddon take the world.

If any still survive is to me unknown.

The world before me, emptiness unfurled,

A lonely journey in a world unkind.

This can happen if only in my mind.
