A Poem by Everett Dulin
"

im working on a title, but i hate busses so this is for now

"
have you seen the prairies,
distant fuzz air-scapes
water tower obelisks all lit in flame
ive been once, and ill wander winter plains

i watched for a millennium
my burning salvation,
and burnt water fell the way

sinking the snow i sleep on
that burning water obelisk,
 hell is my sure fate

have you seen the prairies,
father ive walked all the way
wallpaper cloud shreds, and my gypsum body
prairie madness,
the studs and foundation
i am dying father beneath your spire
on the melting snow i lay

i am dying father,
carry on with my snowy waste
i sat for a millennium
watching burning salvation,
a water tower
that wouldn't put itself out

because my brother, heaven wont be my place
he never learned your name my lord
i am dying father
on your cathedral floor i lay

forgive me father
my brother is my fate
and ill stand til im long long gone
flaming water, the path i had to take

im dying father
and i wish i could pray
im sorry father
but i lost my brother
so i cant choose a heaven

im sorry father
ill be on that spire
heaven wont call
for i cant leave him behind
