Mud Season

Mud Season

A Poem by Fishysua

I, Earth and Ox
Merged to one
Implacable, Unstoppable
Each step a struggle
Beauty caked in blood and mud
Golden wings stiff

Laden cart stuck, jammed
Never to make the Ferry
Precious luxury
Gifts damaged
Prizes lost
Choices
What to Salvage
What to Abandon

Picking fledgling, Bedraggled crow
Rips my skin
Startled by my bellow
I have brought coin
Curiosity, Play, and Affection
Take also
This tarnished determination

Anxious mother
Fearless kitten
My shoulder, your comfort
My shoulder, my toil
I will bear you
Skyward Soaring
Island bound

Shake off the harness
Shapes without Substance
Flow to freedom
Preen, stretch, shimmer
Climb aboard
Climb with me
To river, to sea

This poem takes the readier stepwise in its path to the end. It feels eastern in its approach and gives an aura of wisdom. Nicely done

Thank you
Did it communicate the strangeness? Were the characters disconnected?

About
I found some writing on a napkin. I'm going to copy it here and pitch the napkin. It's time I start writing again. I'm really not much of a Novelist, much more a poet or even a mathematition.. more..
