A Long Time Ago

A Long Time Ago

A Poem by flauxxual

A long time ago I could force a smile,
but now that was back when I was just a child.
Now that's just a long time ago.

A long time ago I understood the world,
but now that was before the world unfurled.
Now that's just a long time ago.

A long time ago I thought that the trees could dream,
but now I think that if my walls could talk they'd scream.
Now that's just a long time ago.

A long time ago you told me what i should believe,
but now i believe that if your eyes could walk they'd leave.
Now that's just a long time ago.

A long time ago I could look at you so tall,
but now I can not even look at you at all.
Now that's just a long time ago.

A long time ago we would watch movies just for fun,
but now I start to cry every time I see spot run.
Now that's just a long time ago.

A long time ago we'd waste days with model cars,
but now I'm only awake underneath the stars.
Now that's just a long time ago.

A long time ago you told me stories I thought were real,
but now i know a good man can never steal.
Now that's just a long time ago.

A long time ago you didn't seem so old,
but now nostalgia makes me feel cold.
Now that's just a long time ago.

A long time ago time was real,
but now its no big deal.
Now that's just a long time ago.
