The is the SECOND piece I ever wrote but it keeps a special spot in my heart as I like it.

RESILIENCE

If sticks and stones could break my bones
I’d express my pain in verse and prose
Neither rain nor shine will brittle my spine
I’ll stand strong and dare you to cross the line

It’s not a matter of hate or sorrow
Whether we die now or live to see tomorrow
There’s only what’s left behind
Once a jungle, now an empty mind

Now words flow like a raging river
Those who hear them cower and shiver
Don’t be afraid it’s just a story
Pictures etched in your memory
