My Dearest Friend

A quick write inspired by a picture from DeviantArt, which is the cover picture.

Walking alone,

All alone.

This path I walk

Is not my home.

 

But home is not

Where it once was,

And now I find

My place, but pause

 

To look around

At where I could go

And wonder whether

I should throw myself

 

This way or that way,

But either way,

Am I all alone?

 

If I am to be

All alone

If I am to find

Some kind of home

Inside the silence

Then I will be

My only friend,

My dearest friend.

I realize this isn't my best work, but I'm trying to get back into writing poetry and songs again, and I'm trying not to throw away what I write.
