Unwanted ReflectionA Poem by LoxMy friends are graduating, I'll be a little bit late but they're going now. They're leaving and I only have myself to blame. I wish I had been able to have gone with them.
The people around me are finished
They stand up, I sit still They're going for the door slowly I look their way and I appeal ''Please don't leave me'' I whisper My voice wavers, unable to let them hear My throat threatens to tremble Alas no sound appears Only few remain sitting with me All struck with the same guilt The same regrets we all share We mourn our loss tears spilt Everyone knew who to blame For a blunder this profound Cast the guilty in the mirror And behold ourselves renowed © 2020 LoxAuthor's Note
