Hear me

Hear me

A Poem by gabbyhopeharo
"

When the person you loved broke your heart time after time and the only thing left is pure anger because the sadness has been exhausted.

"
You have finally pushed me to wits end
In the fullness of time you have broken me within
Illustrated I’m nothing worthy to comprehend
Why don’t you commemorate your win
Bask in the glory of my pain
Swim in the tears of my agony
I sit in despair whilst you grin
Break away the foundation of my ego
Pursue your need for cold mastery
The painful itch that you are is serpigo
Ive dismissed every part of me it’s no mystery
You seek pleasure in the beat of my demise
Longing to spring upon the unrecognizable me
Ripping to shreds my mind piece by piece
Theres nothing left for I don’t matter
This war is over I surrender
Take your armor off to uncover
Whatever lies under
You.

Feeling rusty after not writing for years. Apologizing in advance if this is a bad read. Also note that this like all my writing is the rambling of a sad human.

This is a visceral and powerful expression of rage born from repeated heartbreak.

The opening explanation sets the context perfectly - this isn't about fresh heartbreak, but about reaching that final breaking
point where sadness transforms into something harder and more protective.

The language is deliberately confrontational and bitter: "Why don't you commemorate your win / Bask in the glory of my pain."
There's something almost sarcastic in these lines, like the speaker is throwing their pain back at the person who caused it.

The imagery of swimming "in the tears of my agony" is particularly striking - it suggests the other person almost revels in the
damage they've done.
"The painful itch that you are is serpigo" - using a medical term for a skin condition to describe someone is brilliantly cutting.
It reduces them to an irritation, something diseased and persistent.

The military metaphor ("This war is over I surrender") acknowledges defeat but also suggests this relationship had become a
battlefield. The final lines - "Take your armor off to uncover / Whatever lies under / You" - are fascinating because they shift
from surrender to challenge, almost daring the other person to show who they really are beneath their cruelty.

The poem captures that specific kind of anger that comes after love has been repeatedly betrayed - raw, exhausted,
but still somehow defiant

this is not a bad read at all and I have been feeling rusty lately ,and even though I had to refer to the dictionary for the serpigo,
the poem reads quite well to me.
