Slighted

A Poem by Mari' Emeraude

My secrets are bestowed,
Upon the chosen few
Oh please, don’t feel slighted
If one of them's not you
For I need one to confide in
And this is sad, but true
The conclusions that you jump to
Are in words you misconstrue
You'll resurrect a rumor
If you think it can be run
You'll cut one down in humor
But insist it's all in fun
Yeah, I don't trust your intent
Your tongue's a vicious blade
And I won't share my thoughts with you
'Cause that's how lies are made

a very compelling poem. two things can be taken from it. yes, our imagination can get the best of us and create things or feelings that don't exist. second sometimes people twist words they hear when they misinterpret your thoughts or actions
