Green Car

Pale green station wagon with rust on the side;
Impractical, maybe, but always fun to take out for a ride.
People say it’s pretentious that I love chartreuse,
But the real reason is, it reminds me of you.

And I’ll never look at the stars the same way,
Knowing you’re up there looking down.
And I’ll always remember the things you would say
As we drove that green car around town.

Now the car has been upgraded,
But the memories haven’t faded.
You’ll always be in our hearts,
Just like the thought of that old, green car.

And I’ll never forget all the stories you told;
Never will you truly be gone.
And I’ll always be kept safe from the cold
With the warmth of the love that lives on.
