Even Odds

Even Odds

A Poem by Kenneth The Poet

racing against Einstein's re-imagining
and pacing with and on a claymore's blade
along the city's southern artery,

meeting the odds of a famous film
about a young cancer patient
in Christmas color fashion,

four stops at the front and
four gos at the back and a
mess of traffic and cop
sightings in between,

but it is the first day of the
week in blue law country
after all and it's almost
the top of the day,

the place that Zeno thought
that even Achilles could not reach,

but that's a thought experiment
playing itself against reality,

and reality granted even odds
at the halfway point today,

what a great day to be alive

Nice reference to one of Zeno's paradoxes. Poor Achilles, huh, and poor arrow, and poor everything, all doomed to reach forth for their goal but stumble on the impossibility of movement.

Thank you Ken.
I read and reread this one over and over again Ken trying to figure it out. I know that blue laws are laws that some religions try to enforce as far as working on Sunday, etc. I am lost with the rest of it but I enjoyed the ride. Excellent work.
